In April 1976, the Bridge District introduced toll free passage on the Golden Gate Bridge for vehicles with three or more occupants during peak commute traffic hours. The free car pool hours are weekdays from 5-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival honors spring in Washington, D.C., the gift of the cherry blossom trees, and the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan. The festival brings 16 days and three amazing weekends of (mostly free) events to the capital. The 2011 festivities run through April 10!
