Every girl dreams of being a princess who lives in a castle. It’s the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Now, there’s a way that you can spend at least a little time realizing that dream by staying at one of the most beautiful castles in Ireland.
Dromoland Castle is located in County Clare in Southwest Ireland. The hotel offers spa services, golf packages and romantic weekend getaways. County Clare is a coastal area and the castle is located on the Lough Dromoland on 410 acres of land. The castle is large enough to accommodate many guests but has an intimate feel with 99 classically decorated guest rooms.
The area has many different activities available including the Dromoland Castle Golf and Country Club and the spa located within the castle. Whatever your pleasure, Dromoland has it. It is a castle after all!
If you’re looking for an escape for New Years, Dromoland has the New Year Three-Night Package from December 29 to January 2nd. This package includes three nights’ accommodation in a Queen Aunt Bedroom. There’s also the Two-Night package from December 30 to January 3 and the One-Night Package for December 31st. All packages include attendance to the New Year’s Eve Gala Black Tie Ball. This is the perfect opportunity to dress like the princess you’ve always envisioned – the event is formal. The evening begins with a cocktail reception then bagpipe procession followed by a gorgeous display of fireworks over the Lough Dromoland. This is perfect for the princess in us all.
A ten course dinner including wine is also included at the Brian Boru Hall, which features high ceilings and comfortable seating. Finally, a champagne toast at midnight will ring in the New Year. Of course, there will be dancing and a live DJ to play some great music to keep you bopping til dawn if you wish.

If you already have plans to ring in 2010, there are several other packages to choose from including the midweek two-day stay and the 19th Hole golf package. Whatever packages you prefer, you’ll receive a full Irish breakfast each day. And take it from a gal with a very Irish Grandmother – you’ll be so full you may need someone to wheel you out of the gorgeous dining area.
